I'm thinking about creating a blog series on how to make new friends
.
.
the reason why:

I've noticed a lot of people change schools, locations, cities, countries, etc, or they have just become different from their current friends. It's also much easier to make friends when you are in school through classes, but what happens when you graduate, or you lose contact with old buddies. What happens if you don't have friends at work. What then? how do we go about making new friends? without seeming lame. (I think it'll be weird if i go up to some chicks at the club & ask them if they want to hang out 0_0 lol no thanks, they'll think I'm hitting on them, ick)
I remember speaking to a college professor who just moved to Georgia and wasn't sure how to meet new people outside work, especially since her co-workers mostly hungout as couples/ families & she was single. she also wasn't involved in a church nor was she interested in a knitting or some old people group which she thought was cliche.

SO... I'm going to find the solution! on how to make friends in your 20's and over. Interested? be it online, meetup.com, maybe even craigslist, and I'll post my trials, what worked, what didn't etc.
How you can help!!
*click the comment & leave tips
*or email me
*tell me what worked for you.
*or better yet what you would like to see me try (could be something you are too shy to try)
*I would love to hear from you
so come on, who's in for the ride! this should be interesting. (you could also experiment yourself, cuz u can never have too many friends!)

xoxo Bombchell
ps: be prepared, I'm thinking of changing my hair again, this time think white or pink. yeah....

How to make friends... I will get back to you on this.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea! I was thinking about something like this last year, but I didn't really know the safest way to go about it. It would be cool to be able to meet new friends via a blog. Craigslist scares me!
ReplyDeletewhite or pink? heheehehehe...
ReplyDeletethis is a great concept and idea...look forward to following your findings..
i hear you, and i always try to explain to my guy friends that girls don't just do that lol "hey want to hang out?" lol..
Sounds really good. From my experience, I first find someone that look like they have the same interest in stlye...ie...if I'm into looking glam and hair/makeup on point, then I'm going to gravitate to that...also, small talk. Do they have goals, do they curse, are they funny, are they ghetto acting...you can find out a lot from a person by just spending 5 mins with them. You'll know if they are going to be potenial friend or a hi/bye associate.
ReplyDeleteGood post. I'm curious to this as well, my friends suck, would like to meet some new ones.
ReplyDeleteSOunds like a plan!
ReplyDeleteCant wait to see what you come up with!
def cud use this...im new to a city
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I've been trying to meet new friends and it hasn't been going well :( Recently I've thrown dinner parties and girls nights for my friends and asked them to bring people we don't know mutually...it hasn't worked as well I planned though :( I'm excited to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI am infamous for making new friends...I think it depends on the person's personality. And the vibes that they send off. I have made maybe like 15 new friends this year. I am a very free spirited person. I am not afraid to go somewhere by myself and by the time I leave I would have met at least 5 new friends. I love going places by myself because I am not constrained to one group of people or one thing...Start blogging..Get out, get involve, sign up for some email list...No craigslist because anyone can get on there..Craigslist isnt like it used to be when it first started. Go to different and new places...
ReplyDeleteseems pretty cool ...hope that all works well for you .
ReplyDeleteive met a lot of cool new friends by inviting people to my church events/and or/ school events like fashion shows & what not via myspace.
Dang girl!! I so have this problem! My parents moved from NY to CT when I was away at college. When I came home I was 22... It's soo hard... I have maybe two girlfriends here but we don't have the same interests. One got married & has two babies, the other is cool for going out but we like different kinds of "scenes".. It's soo frustrating!! Craigslist is one creepy place, but I really gotta work on this. Can't wait for the series :)
ReplyDeleteXoXo
dope idea
ReplyDeleteI just can't get enough of your hair! I will be in ATL in June mama! I hope you find some fab friends but I will be yours for when I am in ATL!
ReplyDeletethat's definitely a great idea...i've done a couple of makeup bars...a lot of girls have met each other that way
ReplyDeleteOh this is interesting wand would be useful on my behalf.. I will be tuning back in later in the week to see what methods you've come up with.
ReplyDeleteWow I can't wait for your tips!!!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine recently hung out with a girl she met at a club. The girl was fine when they were hanging out, but once they went clubbing the week later with friends, the girl got really drunk & started causing drama, getting in fights, & crying. It was a mess, but then again not everyone you meet will get that drunk so it's always good to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very interesting post. I love the idea and I'm really looking forward to see what you come up with.
ReplyDeleteI will check back to see what you've come with as well... love the pics. ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat idea i will write a post and send you the link.
ReplyDeleteI think it's a good idea! I like to meet new people to network, and then build relationships from there. I have friends, but as we all gotten older it's been hard to spend a lot of time together.
ReplyDeleteI have met a lot of really cool people, including you, through blogging. So I think a blog that helps people network and make friends is cool.
:)
Hey MIchelle :-) Its A.E. Hmmn meeting new friends outside school.., definitely a challenge (I'm still in school so yeah...) I guess the best way is like through house parties or like intimate gatherings..you might meet some cool people you click with and vice versa especially if you're outgoing and just exchange cards (if numbers is too weird) or something or through a hobby like the gym or a dance class and just let the friendship happen but always be careful :-)..Too many weird people out there these days but there are good ones still..Oh well Life is an adventure, live it :-)
ReplyDeletePS Blogging also works too I'm sure....
nice...cant wait to see what you came up with.
ReplyDeleteHEY GORGEOUS!!!
ReplyDeletehmmm how to find some dope chicks...i think its important to have a a core group of GF's...a set where you can go shopping...cook together...get into a gang bang and cut a bitch type friends...its hard to find friends...well good "REAL" ones at least...man i need some tips cuz all the girls in boston are pretty much wack...i mean seriously you need all friends in all areas...helps to have a friend that works at gucci...helps to have a friend who is a chef...helps to have a friend who can punch a jugular...helps to have a friend who has done it all...you can always have room for more people in your life...you just gotta pick the right ones...
cant wait to see your post...and im loving the curls babe
xo!
"How to make some cool new same-minded friends" ?????
ReplyDeleteWHY, WHY, WHY, WHY ???
I have far too many friends :)
Anyway, if you are posting any blog this week, be very careful when you click “SEND”or your blog might disappear and you lose your post. The internet will be down many times and at different times this week. The Internet Reboot - SitePoint announced that there will be an Internet reboot many times this week at every 11:59UTC. As they put it, “People forget that the Internet has been running continuously since the 1970s. This reboot will provide greater stability for years to come. We’re also hoping it will result in fewer viagra and scam messages.”
Your pictures are ULTRA cute...love coming to your blog.
ReplyDeleteI still have yet to get up with you...we need to do that since we live in the same city.

:o)
interesting post. for me, i usually make new friends through forums or social networking sites where like-minded people gathers.
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah going to someone in a club they might get the wrong idea.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t really get on with people at school as I moved around so much, when I moved to London at 19 all my friends are new
It was easy, I found something I was interested in (Salsa) and met everyone through that.
I also went to networking groups and events.
you so pretty!
ReplyDelete;D
Chell, don't you touch your hair! It's perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe best way to make friends is to get involved in activities that make you happy. If people share the same idea of happiness, they'll be great friends.
Good luck!
you really are a bombshell. nice pictures. how to make friends.. hmm sounds interesting..
ReplyDeleteI love this idea! You are so right that one can never have too many friends! I totally support you. And plus you are looking GORgeous, Chell!
ReplyDeletexoxox,

Keep flippin tha hair styles babygurl, thats tha sign of a fly bitch for reals.
ReplyDeleteI've never really had to worry about making new friends. I'm still in school so it really isn't that hard but when I first moved to Nashville my main group of friends were my fraternity brothers. I still have a few close frat brothers here but I've branched out and my friends are about as diverse as I am.
ReplyDeleteI think as long as you are a sociable person who likes to go out you shouldn't really have a problem making friends. Especially if you are outgoing. If you are not any of these things then I don't really see any hope for you. lol.
hmmm...how to make friends?? can't wait to see ur post on this.
ReplyDeleteas we all know, real friends are hard to find!!! i am so thankful i have 2 true friends since jr. high. but this is a hard one...i usually don't care and just let it happen. can't to see them tips.
ps.i just love ur hair!!
This seems like so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read all about your escapades. If it works well, I may even try it myself ;)
Just droppin' by t say luv ya blog, and your hair is awesome, pass your secret haha♥
ReplyDeleteJust make sure you stay clear of some creepy guy in his 40's (hey, wait... I'm in my 40's) who wants to be your "special friend"...
ReplyDeleteMost of my lasting friendships were made when I wasnt 'trying' to make friends (if that makes sense)....I am awfully shy and there is no way I would ask a random person if they 'wanted to hang' gosh just thinking about that is making me go red.
ReplyDeletehphm! this is really a tough question to answer I dont think Ive ever had difficulty making friends with people..well lets just say girls.. as for Guys its hard cuz I dont like socca ofwhich the majority of guys do.. but yeah... I dunnnooo.. Im a people person
ReplyDeleteI met a few people when I moved to Va. by going on meetup.com and attending a few events hosted by the groups. Note... I said people, I don't think I've met anyone there that I could call a friend. The people that are from here already have their network of friends set up. So... its like, if you're going to meet someone that'll be your 'friend' you will, other than that, you'll just meet someone for the time being :-(
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! And I agree with you that one just can't have too many friends. I will stay glued in for my updates. Way to go, Chiquita!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I think pink hair would be nice. I think it will be better then the green you had. Me? I think orange is hott. If it's done right...
ReplyDeleteI love the happy face with the blown cheeks! 8-)

ReplyDeletelol thats bold. i love it!
ReplyDeletei can only say be yourself and stuff happens
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog, but think this is a great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteMake cool new same-minded friends? I love to make friends but I am loving my privacy now!
ReplyDeleteHmmm...April 19th? Mine is April 10th!
Happy birthday in advance!
This is such a good blog topic!!
ReplyDeleteI think it is hard for young adults even teenagers from 19 + to make new friends on their own (instead of being introduced to other people)
Especially when it comes to females we tend to be very "bitchy" and some girls just cannot be trusted.
It's not only about making new friends but choosing the right friends
But guys its pretty easy making friends for them since they careless and more times are out going!!
looking forward to seeing the results soon!
xo-Huney
Cool pics. You have a nice style. I'm a fan of vests of fun T-shirts.

I was introduced to a friend of a friend on Facebook because we live in the same area so I sent her a note and she never replied back. Apparently my friend said that her friend thought it was ackward. Well anyone who would let a little ackwardness stand in the way of a possible good time is not my kind of friend any way. Maybe a "looking for new friends" website or FB page might work?
ReplyDeletei would love to make new friends it is so difficult
